Megan + Kevin... One Year Later! | Anniversary Portrait Session Sneak Peek

WHOA! Where did 2011 go!? I know I've been saying it all year, but where in the heck did January go!? :D

I won't go into the sweet story just yet because this isn't the full blog post for Megan and Kevin's first year anniversary session... this is just a little sneak peek at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. Yep, you didn't misread that. You'll just have to find out later WHY the session was there. ;)

Morgan + Bruce : The Couple who told the Storm who was Boss | Sneak Peek

One of the month's biggest storms, tornado watch, and crazy high winds didn't stop Morgan and Bruce from celebrating and enjoying their big day on the BEACH. That's right. On the beach in Sandbridge, Virginia. Bring it.

And not only can I check off "photograph something in a storm" on my life's list, we have proven that love really does conquer all. To be honest, I would have been a mess on my wedding day if the weather was like it was on April 16th... and Morgan handled the entire day with so much grace and still rocked it with her gorgeousness. I admire her bundles more than I already did (even if she was already one of my greatest friends!)!

Michelle + Wes | Newport News Military Wedding Sneak Peek

One chilly morning, a bride showed up rocking "Bride" socks and a Starbucks cup to the Poquoson Hair and Body. It was the BIG day that she had been waiting for-- to celebrate her marriage to her best friend.

Veronica + Orlando (and Charlie!) | Sneak Peek from the Chesapeake Arboretum

I truly believe everything happens for a reason, and this is one of them. We were scheduled to do this "Anytime" session right before Christmas, but Orlando's work had him in training, so it just wasn't meant to be then.

Well, today was the day! We had a beautiful day with perfect weather AND just an awesome time at the Chesapeake Arboretum.

Sneak Peek | Michelle and Wes {Bridals and Groom-als}

I would like to proudly present some gorgeous bridals AND the first ever GROOM-ALS! That's right, take that, spin-on tradition!

Michelle came to me and asked for a groom's session along with her bridals because her suave-y groom was getting his military dress blues for his promotion. I fell all over the idea! How cool is that?! As Michelle said, a wedding takes two! It's not just all the bride! I thought it was really sweet, and it just confirms how glad I am that she's become a friend. :)

Now married... Becky + Jason | Wedding Sneak Peek

You met Becky and Jason last October for their engagement session, but NOW they're MARRIED!

It was a chilly January day, but that didn't stop us from getting some gorgeous lighting and portraits! Here's the sneak peek of some of the details from their special day.

And P.S... many call her Rebekah, her birth name, depending on when they met her (I learned this AT the wedding!), but she'll still always be Becky to me. :) And Jason will always be associated with sneakers. Some things never change.

Just a Sneak Peek! | Chesapeake Family Portrait Photography

Photographing a friend and her family just gives me so much joy. They know and appreciate how artsy-fartsy I am and know I'll not only get those shots but the "traditional" ones as well.

As per Amanda's request, her family's sneak peeks are up on the blog instead of Facebook! Gotta keep Christmas card photos a surprise!! ;) So no traditional ones here (okay, maybe one)... just my artsy-fartsy self in love with these dreamy black and whites!
