Now Presenting... Ink and Snow | Black and White Photography

Funny enough for this artist, black and white photography has always been my preferred method of drawing and photography. Color sometimes distracts from the emotion and purpose of an image. The simplicity of contrast stirs something within my heart that can only be explained "otherworldly" for me.

I mean, come on, I desperately want to be Ansel Adams' BFF! (Okay, that might be creepy seeing as he is no longer living... but you get the point.)

I know there are others out there like me, so with any session I offer, you may choose to have an Ink and Snow session at no additional cost.

It's timeless. It's stirring. It's powerful.

All you have to do is say, "Ink and Snow my session, please!" and all of your photos will be in this classic art form with not a spot of color.

With that little intro, and if you've made it this far, you're in for a treat! In honor of my reaching 300 fans on Facebook, I decided to give away an Ink and Snow mini-session.

What's a mini session?
A mini-session is a 30 minute session at any natural light location of your choosing (in Hampton Roads) that includes 2 lo-res images of your choice. I don't do these often, and when I do, they are a great "taste tester" of what Bit of Ivory is all about. A mini-session does not include any print credits or gift prints. It's what it is-- an appetizer!

The Details
* Mini-session must take place before November 13th on a mutually available date.
* This is for a mini-session and will be no longer than 30 minutes. Lateness to your session factors into your timeframe. So be mindful! Additional time will be charged the difference between a mini-session and a full session and would need to be paid before your proofing gallery information is given.
* This is an Ink and Snow session-- you will not receive any color proofs in your private gallery.

  3. I love the classic look of black and white photos. I think it really draws attention to the subject of the photo.

  4. As a therapist who does a lot of art therapy with my clients (esp. kids), I've learned that you use black and white (i.e. pencil drawings) when you want to get at the underlying, fundamental realities that a person portrays in their art. The same can be said for black and white photography. Now, if only I lived near you to take advantage of your offer! :o)

  5. I like black and white photography, though I have never been photographed that way. I think it would not be a unique experience. I think black and white photos are distinctive and classic. Black and white photos have a timeless beauty. They have a pure and simplistic quality too them.

  6. I LOVE black and white photography! I think that B&W can make a photo more powerful.
