Now presenting... the new Layflat and Flush Mount Albums!

I'm always scouring for the best products to be able to offer my photo-fam, and while I've had quality albums in the past, it just never felt like "the one." Nice and pretty, yes. Album soulmate, no.

At the end of last year, another photographer friend showed me some of her albums, and it's hard to explain and as cheesy as it sounds, they felt like home to me. And so when I went to WPPI in February, I made it a point to beeline for their booth to get a ton more information and tell them exactly what I was looking for... and they had it beyond my expectations.

So now Renaissance Albums are part of the Bit of Ivory lineup... both for Layflat AND Flush Mount.

They have the best customer service, and Stacy, my personal album rep, makes sure everything goes smoothly and quickly for everyone. It's always a learning curve when using a new company, and I'm just super grateful that they have been so patient and informative with me. :)

And heck, with a name like Renaissance, you knew that I had to fall in love with them.

LAYFLAT ALBUMS

Layflat Albums are an affordable alternative with high quality cover and lightweight photo-printed pages. These are great albums for parents or copies of a flush mount album.

The layflat album shown above is 8x8 in size with 10 spreads with a Chelsea Chocolate leather cover. (Seriously, the leather series is called Chelsea!! I know. Sheer perfection. lol)

FLUSH MOUNT ALBUMS

Flush Mount Albums are heirloom albums with the highest leather cover and page quality. They have archival photographic prints that are mounted to an inner core. (Think waaay-super-classy-must-hold-with-white-gloves board book!)

The flush mount shown above is 10x10 in size with 12 spreads with a Gramercy Black leather cover.

Photo-Fam Photo Album: Favorite Layouts of April 2012.

I get really excited when couples get albums. Not just because it gets the images off of the computer but because... Albums = fancy books. Books = stories. Stories = love. :) I'm going to try to start sharing these a bit more since I don't post full complete weddings here on the blog or the website; this will give you a good glimpse into the whole storytelling process in an album design. (And why they're my favorites!)

Hope you enjoy some April beautifulness! :)

Megan + Kevin {Album} | Virginia Beach Wedding Photography

We re-meet Megan and Kevin in their own album design!

It's such a beautiful way to have your special day as a keepsake. With all current Bit of Ivory collections, an album of some type is included... because quite honestly, when are you going to print all of those images when you purchase a disc?! :) I truly, truly believe in having something physical to give to your children and grandchildren one day. Who knows if a disc will even be a media that is used in 40 years! Oh, technology.

(What's sad is that this photographer STILL has not printed all of her wedding photos a year later. So I KNOW. Oh, goodness, do I know. I'm a terrible example. BUT I do have a little leather flush mount album! So printing can wait a bit longer. ;) )

Now presenting... Spiral Bound Albums.

I'm so excited to start offering these! So much time and research goes into finding the "best" choice in terms of products to offer my photo-fam.

It's unbelievable how many other photographers I asked and how much time I've spent on various websites and communities getting more information about what different pro-labs offer. I seriously need to get BFF Elaine into pro-photography because then she would tell me right off the bat if something is good enough (like she does with the rest of my life). :D

Spiral bound albums are a beautiful, quality, and affordable way to have all of your photos from a session. I typically offered these with events, but have decided that all sessions would love them just as much. These are perfect for child and family sessions.

Note: I honestly don't recommend them for weddings. Weddings are grander in meaning and size, and these spiral bound albums have a maximum number of prints that can be included in them. You would want something a little more heirloom quality.

These little beauties are very well-crafted with sturdy styrene custom covers sandwiching all of your memories together in one handy 5x5 album.
